How To Maintain Your Exercise Bike

Maintaining your exercise bike ensures its longevity. Here are 2 simple steps to do so.

How To Maintain Your Exercise Bike

All you need is 5 minutes after each workout. Follow these 2 simple steps and you and your exercise bike can go a long way together!

1. Clean your bike (2 minutes)

Nothing feels better than a fantastic workout and breaking a sweat. However, perspiration can be damaging to your bike.

Our perspiration contains salts and minerals that are rather corrosive. If your perspiration accumulates on your exercise bike, it can become damaging and can cause the machine to erode and malfunction. Our perspiration is the perfect cocktail to encourage the growth of rust and as a result, overall deterioration of your exercise bike. Therefore, it is extremely important to wipe away all traces of sweat after each workout.

Here is how:

Wipe all exposed surfaces of your exercise bike, with a semi wet cloth. When cleaning, pay attention to any traces of sweat and wipe them down thoroughly.

Warning: Remember to unplug your exercise bike before cleaning it, and leave it unplugged when not in use.

2. Check the different parts of your bike, regularly

Lookout for any swaying or noises during your workout. Usually, a stable exercise bike would be quieter and much more secure.

It is normal for the nuts and bolts of your bikes to loosen after some time. Therefore, it is important to check the stability of your bike after each workout.

Watch out for signs of swaying, and abnormal noises during your sessions, they could mean that your bike's shoes are incorrectly adjusted. A stable device will be quieter, and more secure

If you hear some squeaking noises coming from your bike, it is most likely that some screws have become loose. Simply tighten the screws and you will notice that the sound would go away.
